Westminster Hall is the large medieval great hall, built, beginning in 1097, by William Rufus after the death of his father, William the Conqueror. It is the oldest part of the Palace of Westminster in London, England, and at the time was the largest hall in Europe.

Totnes Castle, Devon
One of the best preserved Motte and Bailey Castle's in England was built by a Breton, Juhel of Totnes, who was one of William the Conqueror's lieutenants. The feudal barony of Totnes was granted to him soon after the conquest in 1068. The stone of fortification was added later.
